Well, "derelict house guy" came into my go-to shop last week with a bunch of guns.
This one came in a box.....It seems his dad (passed) had a matching 1959 L1A1 parts kit built-out on a Imbel inch-cut receiver....And just left it!
All the parts seemed to be there in a sack and the bore was nice so I bought it for cheap. The Imbel inch cut receiver had surface rust all over it so I cleaned it up and painted it to kinda-sorta match the rest.
I know my way around inch pattern SLRs pretty well but just to make sure it was properly built I took it to a local FAL builder who gave it a clean bill of health for me....Headspace is A-OK.....$20.00 worth of peace of mind.
The only thing I'll change is the buttplate as it has a long one on it and I need a short one. I already ordered it. I did put new gas tube and recoil springs in it as I had some on-hand.
