Most of us have heard good ole Newsom has a budget deficit of close to $77 Billion. Los Angeles appears to be doing just as well.

The chief financial officer for the city, Controller Kenneth Mejia, says the city has big financial problems.

According to the city administrative officer, Los Angeles has a projected budget deficit of $476 million dollars, which is made up of $289 million in overspending and $187 million in less than expected revenues. The overspending occurred in three departments: police and fire - mainly because of staffing issues and overtime - and in liability claims.

"We're not in a recession. This is not COVID. This is a budget deficit that we made here in City Hall," said Mejia.

So if it’s not a recession and not COVID, could it be over spending on the homeless, maybe over spending on the “newcomers”, or just typical progressive policy?

I remember when red Orange County went broke way before Covid.

That was due to a huge gamble, with public funds, taken by a county treasurer who was seriously under-qualified to deal in the kinds of investments. That hasn't been the case with California or L.A. Having not identified a specific cause, these clowns are bound to repeat mistakes.

Ain't it funny that these libs come up with a deficit, but the first place they want to blame is public safety and infrastructure, with never a mention of cutting social services for the homeless and newcomers (ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS). Blame public safety because the tax payers will pony up more for that. I believe that social services should be cut until there is no deficit and if there is a surplus, then another look can be given to social services.

If Biden wins there will be a state bailout... maybe a multi state bailout... and the national debt will be outrageous....
