This is exactly why we should move the US capitol off the coast and into the interior of the country. The middle of Kansas, or Nebraska.

Let Maryland and Virginia reabsorb the citizens and make the Capitol Buildings museums. No more issue of Washington DC becoming a state.

Since climate change is going to raise the sea level 10,000 ft...better to get the process started immediately.
