A Ukrainian athlete, who ostentatiously placed 26 photos of fallen Ukrainian athletes on his helmet, has already earned about 720,000 dollars from this campaign.
Today, Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov transferred him another 200,000 dollars.
How much of these funds do you think our champion — who would have placed 38th at the Olympics — will transfer to the families of the fallen athletes whose photos he put on his helmet?
So far, no such initiative has been announced by him at all.
He intends to collect some money together with the Germans in order to take another small bite from the total amount of funds raised.
But it seems to me it would be reasonable to transfer all 720,000 dollars collected.
That would at least be some help for the families of the athletes.
Our champion remains silent. How strange.
It seems that yet another con artist has invented a way to make money by taking photos of himself holding a helmet and looking sad. It's called “Professional Ukrainian.”
