Kill the Dept of Ed because it is unconstitutional, or because it is an abject failure?

Before the Dept of Education the US was #1 in the world. Now we're like #35. And going down from there.
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.

When the US was "#1" there were hundreds of thousands of kids who were given no education at all. We just didn't count them.

Absolutely not. Dr. Gerald Bracey is a well-known educational statistician. I used his textbook in graduate school. He exposes the errors in testing programs like this.

You don't want to educate kids with disabilities? Did you sell your soul to the devil? I hope you got a good deal!
Where did you get that? Educate them, but don't count them. After all, when we bring out basketball rankings we don't include wheelchair basketball.

You said not to educate them like before.

Critics of public education don't do that.becuase it won't fit their narrative. They thrive on the bad stats.

The linked article takes the former approach, while I personally like the viewpoint that the Department - its very existence - is unconstitutional, as Education is not among the powers enumerated in Article I for Congress.

What do yinz think?
C. Both of the above

Or because we can't afford it. Like most of the federal government, it definitely will be reduced in budget and personnel. It may eventually be reduced to zero. It has a short amount of time to prove it is still worth some of our money.
