A Review of Academic Use of the Term “Minor Attracted Persons”​

The analysis found that the term MAPs was operationalized in different and contradictory ways, however, the literature broadly agreed that MAPs constitute an oppressed sexual minority who are subject to undue stigmatization and discrimination. We point to the similarities between this sympathetic framing of MAPs and the political goals of the pro-pedophile advocacy groups that created the term MAPs, and from which many MAPs studies recruit their research participants.

The Left’s Appalling Efforts to ‘Normalize’ Pedophilia​

What’s interesting here is that Walker isn’t as straightforward as others have been in Hollywood and academia: Walker eschews the obvious word for someone with pedophilia, “a psychiatric disorder in which an adult has sexual fantasies about or engages in sexual acts with a prepubescent child”—the literal definition—and slaps a more innocuous, euphemistic name on it.

That kind of Orwellian attempt to change definitions by twisting language should be confronted until it’s widely recognized for what it is.

In July 2018, a TEDx speaker argued that pedophilia should be accepted as “an unchangeable sexual orientation.” Mirjam Heine’s presentation, “Pedophilia Is a Natural Sexual Orientation” at Germany’s University of Wurtzberg is Exhibit A in the effort to make pedophilia sound as benign as a person who has a sweet tooth, but doesn’t gorge on dessert.

New study shows 55 percent of Democrats are tolerant of the term ‘minor-attracted persons’​

However, perhaps the most distressing result was that 55% of Democrats were not hostile to the term "minor-attracted persons" — defined in the study as "individuals attracted to people who are minors or below the legal age of consent." Pedophilia was once "unthinkable" and "radical," but it now finds itself within the realm of "sensible" and "popular" due to the shifting nature of the Overton Window.

Back in May 2020, British outlet The Daily Mail published the findings of an investigation into the world of pedophilia. According to the report:

Britain's most notorious child-sex offenders are using mainstream websites such as YouTube, Twitter and Instagram to rebrand paedophilia [sic] as a harmless sexual preference[.] ...

Hundreds of disturbing accounts are being set up every day which refer to both potential and prolific abusers as 'MAPs' — Minor-attracted Persons — to escape the 'stigma' attached to the word paedophile [sic].

These online predators "use cartoon avatars"; employ hashtag slogans like #MAPPride and #MAPPositivity; and, in many instances, tout their perverse proclivities by sharing the ages of the children to whom they find themselves most attracted. Some of the users detailed that their sexual appeal extends to two-year-olds.
