Via Sacramento Bee:

Colin Kaepernick raised eyebrows last week when he revealed that he did not vote in the presidential election amid a football season in which his protest of racial inequality gained national attention. In fact, it would have been problematic if he had. The Sacramento Bee found that the San Francisco 49ers quarterback has never been registered to vote.

Kaepernick, who was raised in Turlock, turned 18 in 2005, but he has not registered to vote in California at any point in the last decade, according to records maintained by the California Secretary of State. He also did not register in Nevada while he attended the University of Nevada, Reno, from 2006 to 2010, according to the Washoe County Registrar of Voters.

That means he missed presidential elections in 2008 and 2012 – when Democrat Barack Obama was elected president – in addition to a variety of state and local elections in other years.

How exactly is it "hypocritical"? Explain.
I don't know much of the story --- had he been saying people should vote?

Sooooooo.... nobody can explain where they "hypocrisy" is. Just yet another echo chamber.

He's not the first Liberal hypocrite and he won't be the last. He's a typical liberal who bitches about how fucked up things are and then, literally, takes a knee when it comes to fixing those problems.

See my reply above.

It's hypocritical to complain about something then do nothing about it.

Same goes for the protesters screeching "Not my President". I'd bet many of them were bitching a couple weeks ago when Trump commented he may not accept the results of the election if he lost.

You know, voting really doesn't factor in here, because Kapernick isn't protesting politicians, he's protesting the way that young black men are being treated by the police.

Now...................if all police officers were voted into their job, you people bitching about him not voting might have a point.

But, they're not, so you don't.

What would voting accomplish when it comes to police violence against young black men? Police aren't appointed by elected officials, nor are they voted into their position. They apply and are hired.

If he was bitching about the elections, or about politicians in his district, you might have a point, but he's not, so you don't.

Seems like the OP and several of his echoists forgot to stop and thnk what "hypocrisy" means. That's why I asked if the guy had been exhorting others to vote and then didn't vote himself --- that would be "hypocrisy".

In fact I read his OP article and all it indicated was that Kopericus himself said it would have been hypocritical to vote.

Reading is a lost art.

How do you change that? By voting in politicians who will change the police force. Seriously dude, you're smarter than this. Much smarter than Kaepernick who should have voted if he was really serious about changing things instead of just drawing attention to himself. He should have registered himself and he should have encouraged everyone he knew to do the same.

The mayor and city council are in charge of the police force. Voters are also taxpayers who pay for the police force. You're better than this. Please act like it.

Never cheered him or said anything against him. I just said that as an American, free speech and protest is one of the rights that we have, and he is free to exercise his as he sees fit.

And yeah..............if this was an issue that could be fixed by voting, I would call him a hypocrite just like the rest of you are trying, but it can't.
