Just finished watching the film Signs.........

That's always a good sign.

I'm betting he is related to River Phoenix.

Sounds like what I just spent the last four years going through. I still need four ounces of dilaudid every night just to get to sleep if I think of Joe Biden and Kamela Harris, the stumbling, bumbling, mumbling child grabbing dick wagging falling down easter-egg-hunting autopenner, and the marxist muslim Hindu anointed to the throne.

It was our bias against Pete Buttigig that stopped her.
I googled it and found the Salt river is the one in Phoenix.

Netflix features groomer programming. It is done. Stock is crashing.

Thanks! I see enough woke and gay shit on the broadcast and cable channels.

I'm already paying $218 a month for basic cable, 200Mb unlimited data internet with four email addresses, and a landline phone which we've had since forever.

Ouch. Sounds like the old "Verizon Package."

I used to have cable and satellite; you are forced to buy 60 channels you don't want and know you'll never watch just to get the 1-2 channels they cleverly stick into the package you're actually interest in because otherwise, no one would ever pay for those other channels.

I left it all a decade ago. I found I get as good or even better programming for free, over the air, about 75 channels really on my hill, to which I augment endlessly with Tubi streaming service which is free too.

I checked my phone bill and didn't see Verizon's name on it. I called my Telco and they said the cable package comes from Midwest Video Solutions, which is a three-county coop.

I never heard of that outfit, but apparently the "package" model is a fairly common and popular model for forcing people to buy 75% shit channels so they can get the 25% they are actually interested in.

This way, all these providers get to charge these cable companies for carrying their channel, then they shoehorn them all in with the stuff that actually carries popular programming.

I'll be honest with you: those "premium movie" channels are the worst--- they carry the highest overhead while repeating the same movie usually 3X a day. They offer a month-long list of repeats, then slip in 2-4 new movies every month to give subscribers something new to actually watch and to run ads for, figuring that is just enough new movies to give the subscriber something to look forward to previewing a few nights each month.

This way, not only do they keep you subscribing, but you are then encouraged to subscribe to a few other movie channels to get the amount of fresh, new programming you really want, the dirty secret is, they often usually own the other movie channel too, so, it is a racket--- they get you both coming and going.

I got my cable package from Alliance. I think they're Midwest. They have an office in my little town, so if I have a problem I can just walk right in. They are absolutely A-1 for customer service.

My favorite movie of all time is Casablanca. I have to have seen it about half a dozen times, now.

A few other movies hold up as worth watching again and again.
Movies that I will drop everything and watch if they are starting up ( 13th Warrior ) ( A Clockwork Orange ) ( The Natural ) ( The Haunting ) ( The Vikings ) ( The Sand Pebbles ) ( Apocalypse Now / Redux ) ( Ford vs. Ferrari ) ( Of Gods & Kings ) ( Repo Man ) …

I think I've heard of some killer weather up your way! Tornado or something?

Not near me -- I'm in the southeastern corner of SD.

We've had our share nearby, but safe so far.

Houses here are most of them built with safe places in the basement.

The weakest aliens in The Galaxy, that can be completely wiped out by a six-year-old with a Super Soaker, travelhundreds of billions of miles to invade a planet that is 6/10ths water … AND … they don’t bring any guns?

Kinda like Mars Attacks;

I did like the movie "Signs". It had a lot of subplots that I found thought provoking.

Kinda like Mars Attacks

The Martians brought guns and had no knowledge of the Works of Slim Whitman.

On the other hand, “Signs” aliens knew full well well they were landing with nothing but their junk in their hands on a world full of water which would kill them utterly.

So, an order of magnitude dumber than The Martians.

O.K.

Killjoy. :slap:
