Yep, and the mile markers always start at the state line in the south or the west and increase in number as you drive north or east.

If the interstate is a 3 digital number that starts with an even number it is a loop that intersects with the interstate of the last 2 digits. Ex. Interstate 610 is a loop that circles the city but intersects with interstate 10.

If it's a 3 digit number that starts with an odd number, same concept but it's a spur that runs into and out of a specific area of a city.

Ex. Interstate 395 is a spur that runs into and out of an area of a city and is connected to interstate 95.

Something like that. I may be a little mistaken but it works something similar to that

I notice 94 is not listed, I traveled the most northern route across montana, through bismarck to helena upon a time

I remember it well because in Bismarck I stopped at some place for food and there was like state cheerleaders all there.

It was hard to eat with so much eye candy

there for breakfast but was now craving some dessert ;)

Looks like I94 is not a cross country interstate. It looks to start in ND and ends in Chicago.

As a kid, when living in Minnesota, we used to drive on I94 going to Wisconsin often

ah, yes I had to go through chicago, I missed the route around and what a freaking nightmare.
16 lanes, 10 probably going to O'hara and it was bumper to bumper.
if you need to get across 4 lanes for an exit you were totally screwed, nobody would let you.

I did get a picture while in traffic of the sears tower though

I'll never to through downtown ever again and that was 20 years ago, can't imagine how bad it is now

Thank you President Eisenhower.

I drove the Lincoln Highway or Highway 80 from the west to the east with a friend who lived near Chicago and had to get home....
What a nightmare... miles and miles of road without a single other car in sight and believe me when you see a gas station stop and fill up no matter if you need gas or not...
After our third or so stop I noticed piles and piles of rusty tin cans by where we parked and had lunch...
And a every stop after that I saw piles of cans... so I asked the guy at the gas station what the hell is with those cans...
He sad they are remnants of the great migration west in the dust bowl days... the people would stop for rest and they discarded their cans and trash in piles....
