But what would this bring down on us Americans? If the people whom you champion should win, how would we, the ordinary people of this nation, benefit? You are championing authoritarianism, not freedom for all Americans.

If either Trump or DeSantis were to become President in 2024 they should be able to prevent the democrats from turning our nation into a socialist worker’s paradise. If the democrats succeed in making this a socialist nation you can kiss the Bill of Rights goodbye.

The problem is, unlimited power in the hands of a monarch, a mob, or a central committee always will be prone to rampant abuse and will sacrifice the God-given rights that are the very foundation of a just government.

Not only is freedom sacrificed but, perhaps ironically, so is community as society devolves to seeing the blunt instrument of the state rather than family and civil society as the basis of well-being.

the Democratic Party seems to love socialism today thanks to Bernie Sanders, AOC and the squad.

I disagree. We've increased the number of participants in our democratic elections and have nearly a 50/50 tie in government with the tie breaker going to the Dems right now. We are mired in partisan gridlock.

I was a registered democrat for half a century and come from a long line of people in worked in the Pennsylvania iron and steel mills and were also democrats. They stood on union picket lines in the rain and snow to fight for worker’s rights and benefits. At that time the Democratic Party was the party of the working man.

Recently the Democratic Party changed and left me behind. In my opinion the Party went batshit crazy. I blame Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Hopefully the more rational people in the Democratic Party will regain full control and return sanity to their Party.

We don’t need local governments defunding the police, eliminating bail, letting violent criminals out of prison and ignoring crimes such as shop lifting and theft.

There definitely is a thing called “hate speech” but it shouldn’t be banned. Freedom of speech was not placed in the Bill of Rights to protect acceptable speech. If we start banning certain speech we end up banning criticism of government policies which is happening today.

We need a southern border and we need ICE. We also need to overhaul our outdated immigration system.

We should never teach our kids that this is a evil nation of racism, for racism and by racism. It’s not a perfect nation and never was but that is true of all nations. Over the years we have made considerable improvement and hopefully that trend will continue.

We definitely do not need looting and riots on a regular basis every time a white cop kills a black individual. While some cops are bad not all cops are and we need all the good ones we can retain or recruit. Peaceful demonstrations are fine, looting and burning down blocks of a city is not. Throwing bricks and commercial fireworks at the police is not. Blocking streets and attacking the occupants inside of cars is not.

We don’t need to stack the Supreme Court nor do we have any real reason to make Washington D.C. a state.

The people we elect for Congress need to relearn how to compromise. They also need to learn they work for us and we don’t work for them.

This nation is now on the verge of breaking apart and if it does the whole world will be negatively affected.
