The taxpayer free dime is over, time for these institutions to pay their own ******* way! :-)

Federal spending on STEM medical research is bad now?

Johns Hopkins University is the source of all academically engineered evil IMO.

IMO? That place is lucky to only lose funding and not be the subject of a federal criminal probe into an international cabal trying to destroy the U.S.

This has to be done. It will reduce the number of crazy radical teachers and upper members of the schools.

Crazy radical teacher at a STEM school focusing on biochemistry, pre-med, neurobiology, and engineering?

How much of that goes to STEM and how much to obscure academic social stuff?

Also going back to the initial information released by DOGE, how much of that goes to the studies, and how much went as overhead to the university management blob?

Overhead rates?

Understanding the NIH's New Indirect Cost Rate Policy: What Nonprofit and Higher Education CFOs Need to Know

This shift represents a substantial reduction from the negotiated IDC rates many Research Institutions currently receive, which often range from 50% to 60% of direct research costs. The NIH justified the change to ensure more federal funds go directly to scientific research, citing private foundations that reimburse indirect costs at much lower rates.

You believe thats why it was cut?

that's one of the reasons things are getting cut.

The other is lots of these places can afford to fund some of their own research, or get private corporate donors to cover it.

Especially STEM research.

How do we know it was?

The queer lobby is everywhere, and this could involve homosexuals and transsexuals rather than cancer research

And more! The med school still has wacky shit like this on their website:

My tax dollars don't need to be funding the "queer alliance" at Johns Hopkins. It's a private school, let their donors pay for that.
