Not unusual. Michael Jackson purchased all rights to the Beatles and Cat Stevens years ago. I don't know who controls them now that he is dead, but I would imagine that his heirs still own them.

It was almost like the song was written for Johnny to help him mourn his wife dying

Nine Inch nails wrote the song, but even they admit it is now Johnny's

Not sure if there is anything comparable to this.
 


I was lucky enough to see Johnny at a Billy Graham Crusade.

He did not sing this song though. LOL.

Even so, I love it!!
