I'm not the best punctuationist in the world, but even I know the /?/ mark means I'm asking a question ... thank you for your answers, I'm glad someone other than me cares enough about children to spend some time being part of the solutions, rather than just bitching about the problems ...

Many years ago, the Oregon legislature appropreated $5 billion for the public education of 1/2 million students ... that's $10,000 per student ... the school districts only receive $4,300 per student ... at the time, there was a lawsuit working it's way through the courts to make the Dep't of Education tell us where the other $2.8 billion was being spent ... as the Dep't was denying all FOIA requests ...

The individual districts were an excellent model on proper fiscal management ... they had to be ... all the waste was in Salem ... something you might want to check on in your state ... Sacramento is also a major source of evil, look for your tax dollars being wasted there too ...
