99 years old- what a coach

what a man

the 6 o'clock news said he was resting well and I thought he might get a little longer

enjoy the next step coach- you deserve it

This does bother me, Wooden was a legend, and maybe the most respected coach at any level. When Lew Alcindor first walked into Wooden's office at UCLA, the first thing Wooden told him was, "If you don't make your grades your off the team." Jabbar said he could have gone to any other school and not shown up to a class, and he would have been on the team.
When UCLA was going to name the new basketball court the John and Nell Wooden Court, he insisted that Nell's name be first.....very cool.
Wooden was a man of integrity, and he will be missed.

Wooden may have very well been the greatest coach in any sport. His UCLA teams dominated the way no other basketball team ever had.

He didn't win just because of Alcindor or Walton. He was able to take whatever players he had on the floor and turn them into champions
