Get rid of the 40 million illegals bankrupting hospitals and everything would be fine.

Fox’s John Stossel: ‘I write this from the hospital. Seems I have lung cancer … Customer service stinks’

april 21 2016 “My doctors tell me my growth was caught early and I’ll be fine,” he wrote. “Soon I will barely notice that a fifth of my lung is gone. I believe them. After all, I’m at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. U.S. News & World Report ranked it No. 1 in New York. I get excellent medical care here.

“But as a consumer reporter, I have to say, the hospital’s customer service stinks. Doctors keep me waiting for hours, and no one bothers to call or email to say, ‘I’m running late.’ Few doctors give out their email address. Patients can’t communicate using modern technology.

“I get X-rays, EKG tests, echocardiograms, blood tests. Are all needed? I doubt it. But no one discusses that with me or mentions the cost. Why would they? The patient rarely pays directly. Government or insurance companies pay.”

“Customer service is sclerotic because hospitals are largely socialist bureaucracies,” Stossel added. “Instead of answering to consumers, which forces businesses to be nimble, hospitals report to government, lawyers and insurance companies.”

Health care would work much better without a third party payment system. If everyone had to pay their own medical bills.then

1. People would take care of their health and when they got sick, would doctor themselves

2. People would haggle with doctors over prices

3. There would be very little fraud.

What a dick. He's getting the best care available and a hopeful diagnosis and he begrudges doctors spending time with other patients.

Nice of the "investigative reporter" to only discover the deficits in the healthcare system when they affect his precious self.

so if you get the cancer YOU are going to doctor yourself?....you?.....

I grew up in an age when my Dad paid the bills himself and the doctor made house calls. Progressives killed that system with government insurance. My doctor made the necessary adjustment after realizing that the government was the customer and his patients could take it or leave it.

Progressives destroy everything they touch

And here I thought everyone being able to afford transportation kept doctors in their offices with their high tech tools. Sometimes, CF, you post like a retard.

60 years ago, one night in a hospital cost one day's salary for an average working man. Now it costs $3000 or 20 day's salary!!! Even figuring in inflation, a night in a hospital has gone up by a factor of 20. That's what happens when a third party pays for health care.

Mind you, that $3,000 is just the hospital bill - the surgeon's bill is on top of that.

The US medical system is indeed pretty scary. One wonders if it was intentionally fucked up. How is it for example even before Obamacare so many incompetent, many unable to speak English are hired in hospitals. Affirmative action? "Diversity?"

Yup - 30 years ago the mexico-firsters in congress passed the EMTALA Act which says hospital ERs have to treat everyone, even illegals with no intention or means of paying!!!
