John Oliver eviscerates the phony outrage over the Hunter laptop story.

What else explains the contribution to the inauguration combined with the change in platform policy allowing for more lies and hate speech to be posted, and settling a lawsuit over the legal banishment of trump for repeatedly violating FB's rules?
After all, Dotard threatened to throw Mark in jail for life.

And if you bothered to actually read everything I wrote instead of just the pieces you want to, you would see that I've also said they are trying to curry favor with TRUMP!, but with no indication he's playing ball with them.

What you're ignoring is that I've said they not only attempted to curry favor with Quid Pro Joe, but they also admitted that they held regular meetings with government officials to discuss what speech to suppress. You keep pretending that didn't happen.

You keep pretending that didn't happen.
I'm not pretending anything of the sort. I'm stating unequivocally that the decision on whether to censor misinformation related to COVID was ultimately FB's to make. Saying he now regrets the decision is on him, not the Biden admin.

That says nothing about the collusion that went on. Of course, the decision was ultimately FB's, and that's why it's not an explicit violation of the 1st Amendment. I've said that. It was an end run around the 1st.

Collusion? You're reaching.

The letter pertains to an ongoing probe that the Republican-majority committee is conducting on online content moderation.

The letter detailed that the COVID-19 content censored due to pressure from the Biden administration included humour and satire and that the officials “expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree”.

He acknowledged that it was his and his team’s decision to cave in to the pressure.

“I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” he says in the letter.

If you can cite the law making it illegal for the government to try to prevent misinformation about a deadly virus from being spread on social media please do.

Like I said before, I do not believe you are actually reading what I write. If you did, you would notice that I've ALREADY stipulated that they have not violated the 1st Amendment, nor have I stated that they broke any laws. Now, would you care to dismantle that strawman you are attempting to pummel? It's really a bad look for you. What I said is factually correct.

HUNTER the addict drunk & broke, NON GOVERMENT EMPLOYEE.
is of what lingering interest as a talking point???

30-minutes of a whiny Brit. UGH. I'll just call it "Fake News"
Here's genuinely fake news, read here how I just exposed and eviscerated the lies about the 56K dollar a year plant watering contract that DOGE claim to have cancelled.

Here's the poster's claim and my investigation follows as we discussed it in the thread.

The fact is trumpanzees are gullible at best and routinely lap up fake news all the time and then propagate it like a deadly disease, to other trumpanzee victims, since none of you care for vaccinations the disease spreads among you and eventually could lead to the collapse of American society.

It;s true. THe level of hate and emnity we see from the left, even if the accusations of corruption were true, it would be nearly suicidal for us to side with the left vs Trump.

As it is, of course, their words have no weight, after decades of ever increasing lies and shit talk.

So... yeah.

Wahhhh. Wahhhhh

The bulk of the episode focuses on Facebook and how Zuckerberg is bending company policy to trump's will. Paradoxically, the very thing the Right accused FB of doing when Biden was prez.

Because the laptop story is central to Right wing orthodoxy regarding the assertion the free speech of conservative's has been targeted, I took note when Oliver shredded it. Go to the 24 minute mark of the show. Or watch the whole thing, it's excellent. I enjoyed it immensely.

It's worth mentioning that when two states sued the federal government, alleging that government officials had censored speech in violation of the 1st A, they lost.

John Oliver?? LMAO.

How comforting it must be to live in a world where anything you see that challenges your beliefs is summarily dismissed.
