John Fogerty sharing some songs while quarantining

I tell you for an old musician his voice is still very good.

He's singing those songs in the same key he did 50 years ago a lot of older singers have to move to lower keys

I had tickets to see him play at the end of April but I guess I'm going to have to wait now

At one time he was my favorite rock vocalist...he doesn't sing anything like he once did. I remember his brother dying of AIDS he supposedly got in a blood transfusion so ol John is probably worried he's next. I lost all respect for him for the way he treated the other guys in his band after they turned on him for being a tyrant. Like Dylan, assholes who happen to be good musicians don't impress me...they stole most of what they're famous for.

Unfortunately it seems like a familiar tune with bands. They are all alphas and that is rather typical. Name the band...from the 60s or 70s and you will see typical fights.

From the Beatles to the Eagles, Crosby Stills Nash, you name it.

Timothy B Schmidt once said it is very rare when a Band is not within an inch of breaking up at any point.

I don't know the specific story of John Fogerty. I am sure he displayed real boorish behavior.

After watching that Eagles two hour special, I had a change of heart about Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Didn't shock me about Henley, but Frey came across a lot different than what he apparently was.

Roger Waters is another prick.

In fairness to Fogerty, he was CCR and the rest were along for the ride. They wanted to write and sing and he told them no way....they were side men. It would have been like Bill Wyman telling Jagger he wanted to do the vocal on "Brown Sugar"...absurd. Fogerty's beef with his band is they sided with the record company that were screwing them to get some fast cash...he never forgave them for that.....dunno, maybe he was justified....He played all the instruments on the non-existent "Blue Ridge Rangers" studio band. This is him at the top of his game:

I remember this pathetic story.

John Fogerty was sued over ripping off HIMSELF.

Saul Zaentz, who owned CCR’s old label Fantasy Records, also owned the copyright to “Run Through the Jungle.” Zaentz felt that “The Old Man Down the Road” was simply “Run Through the Jungle” with different words. In other words, John Fogerty had plagiarized a John Fogerty song to which he didn’t own the copyright.

--------

Yeah, note the name....."Saul Zaentz" suing someone.

He lost the lawsuit, but it cost Fogerty a lot of money defending himself.

A few things, watch this quick video of CSN and at 3:00, look at the way Stills talks to Crosby. Graham Nash isn't even talking to Crosby anymore. Just in a recent video Nash had very harsh words for Crosby.

Then there was rather infamous story between Skynyrd and the Rolling Stones. Apparently at this concert you are seeing, Van Zant was instructed that he nor his band were to perform on the tongue that was jetted out from the stage, for it was meant ONLY for The Rolling Stones. (They were opening for the Stones in that concert 1976)

So Ronnie, during the long solo of Free Bird deliberately guided his mules slowly down onto the tongue, which really pissed off the Stones people.

To which Van Zant basically telling the Stones, "don't ever tell me what to do, especially here in this country, especially here in the south."

Watch beginning at 7:00 when they begin the long solo. He escorts them down onto the tongue. Watch at around 7:45, how he directs the others to come down onto the tongue....NOW.

He was supposedly looking over to the Stones manager, basically telling him to **** himself. Less than a year later many of them died in that crash.

Now Skynyrd have bitter fights with each other.

50 years from now I'll be 122...if I can still sing I'll win American Idol (is that still on?) and use my winnings to buy a rocket ship trip to Mars on Elon Musk's shuttle. I'm not in the business of giving over the hill rockers a "break"...comes a time you just go away and let the public remember what you were.

Yeah I'm sure your singing voice is just as good now as it was 50 years ago

I think his voice sounds good. Not for a 74 year old. Sounds good. He isn't singing out of key. That could be me.

I should have stayed away from this....I'm not usually critical of music...it's the thing that can bring friend and foe together in appreciation of something. The spiritual at the end was pretty good...he can play that piano! I saw the pic and see he's still dying his hair brown.....let it go Fogerty...you ain't a young man anymore.
