Joe Biden is reportedly 'planning first major tax hike in almost 30 years'

Don't have mind-reading capabilities. I just pay attention. The border patrol had more freedom under Trump.

Then I'll wait for your link and evidence that's why they collectively supported him. How about some common sense? They supported him because he supported them.

You voted for the Blob and the problem has not been resolved, in spite of your protestations. It was in existence when Biden took office, just building on the other side.
I believe that since you drove trucks for 30 years, you have a narrow view of things.
You are on the road and are not exposed to reading or researching. You listen to certain radio shows that spread hate and misinformation, and that is all you are exposed to.

The border problem was well under control under President Trump. He had several policies to fight the multiple problems, which if the commies in the House couldn't stop, their judges did, at least temporarily.

Now we have a mess on our hands. It's been reported one child already taken to the hospital in serious condition. Most of them are not being tested while we're trying to turn our country back to normal again. They are not staying on the other side of the wall any longer. Dementia is letting them in to go wherever. Some are saying this is going to be the worst it's been in 20 years.

So maybe you can answer this question that I have asked repeatedly.

Given that from 2011 to 2019 the US government has collected over 40 billion dollars annually from the federal gas tax why is it we have to raise income taxes to pay for infrastructure repair when gas tax revenues are supposed to be earmarked for that purpose?

And that's nothing compared to what transportation companies have to pay in diesel and mileage tax. They have to pay tax per mile on each axle over two. A normal tractor-trailer has five axles.

If we can be honest here, road workers are all union workers. Who do union workers normally vote for?
The gas tax money has obviously been used for other projects, whatever they may be.
Which is why we don't need to give the government more money

What's obvious about it? Do you have a copy of the expenditures and taxes collected for the infrastructure?
Well, it obviously has not been used for its intended purpose, yes?

How Much Gas Tax Money States Divert Away From Roads ...

reason.org › policy-brief › how-much-gas-tax-money-stat...

Many states today, however, divert portions of their state gas tax revenue to the state general fund and other non-highway uses, such as these:

  • The largest and most common diversions, found in 20 states, are those to transit and active transportation (pedestrian and bicycle projects). New York and New Jersey, for example, allocate over a third of their respective motor fuel tax (MFT) revenue to transit.
  • Ten states divert a portion of their gas tax revenue to law enforcement and safety services, marking the second most common diversion.
  • Though less frequent, diversions to education tend to be substantial, accounting for 25.9% and 24.7% of gas tax revenue in Michigan and Texas respectively.
  • Other states divert gas tax revenue to tourism, environmental programs and administrative costs. In total, 22 states divert over 1% of their gas tax revenue.
By violating the users-pay/users-benefit principle, diversion poses both immediate and long-term threats to transportation funding. Diversions can leave roads and highways underfunded.

The Blob put a cork on the problem and hardly solved the problem because it still exists.

GAs taxes are supposed to be earmarked for roads

The Blob put a cork on the problem and hardly solved the problem because it still exists.

It didn't exist under Trump. It's a problem now because this moron reversed Trump's policies, particularly the Stay In Mexico policy. They are even coming here with T-shirts praising Biden for his policy changes.

I don't know why you people on the left refuse to accept facts and responsibility; well, I guess that's part of being a leftist in the first place. But the border patrol recently captured middle-east terrorists going through that border because it's so easy to penetrate under Biden. What's it going to take for you people to wake up, another 911 or worse? Knowing you on the left, you'd still be saying it wasn't Biden's fault even if it's proven the terrorists walked right into this country across that border.

Don't hang by your thumbs while waiting. We are saying the same thing.

Wait no longer, and from one of your very own, NPR:

The NBPC says it has never endorsed a presidential candidate in the primaries. But in a statement, it says it is "breaking with past practice." Trump has made immigration a key part of his campaign for the GOP nomination, repeatedly promising to build a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico, and to force the Mexican government to pay for it. He has also pledged to triple the number of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who enforce immigration law.

Your article is about what a state does with their state fuel taxes that they collect, not federal fuel taxes. A state can do whatever they like, and if you disagree with how they are spending your tax dollars, you elect better leaders. When our new Governor took office in 2018, he increased our fuel taxes by 10 cents a gallon for gas, and 15 cents a gallon on diesel.

What we are talking about here is federal fuel taxes because it's federal dollars that are going to fund all this infrastructure.

It seems very clearly that the so called conservatives, supporters of trumpism and all around kooks on the far right want free things. They don't want to pay taxes to rebuild the rusting infrastructure as well as the million little things that they enjoy with thanks to government on all levels for the people.

We're fine with paying taxes, but fair taxes. Only a little over 50% of our population pay actual income taxes, and no, payroll taxes are not really income taxes.

You may be fine with paying income taxes, but the Republican Party is not. The last income tax signed by trump cut the top two tax brackets, giving the top earners a tax cut, cut the percent to corporations and with their deductions some don't pay any tax. The rest of us had our Real Estate Tax and State Income Tax limited to $10k, and a standard deduction doubled, the latter will sunset in 2026.

Bust II cut taxes twice, and Ryan and Trump decided to cut taxes again. Reagan cut taxes too, taking away a deduction for labor union dues, and cutting the dollars spent for medical care. You wonder why we have a national debt in the trillions, just take look at the don't tax and spend since 1981, and the taxes paid by the vast majority of us are the losers, and corporation and the highest earners benefit greatly.

So your complaint is that Trump cut taxes on the people who pay most of those taxes? Who's taxes was he supposed to cut, people that pay the least?

I got a payroll tax cut, better deductions on my tax returns, plus I no longer have to pay Commie Care fines. DumBama cost me more money than all past presidents combined, and Trump saved me money, and I'm just a blue-collar worker/ landlord.

If you're paying over 10K on property and state tax, you have a very nice home, or live in an over taxed state where the cost of living is much higher. Here in Ohio, not a lot of people had a problem with the 10K limit. If you remember, the Bush tax cuts expired. DumBama let them go for a short time, but that was it.

Now if it were up to me, all Americans would pay income tax dedicated strictly to the national debt and deficits via a consumption tax. I would start with 10 cents on the dollar. If Congress spends more than they are currently spending today, we increase it to 12 cents on the dollar. Free college? 14 cents on the dollar. This way everybody has a dog in the race, and people would vote out representatives that pork up the spending bills like the last one that put us 2 trillion more in the hole, mostly to repay Democrat voters and loyalists. Everybody would be paying it, even if you are a prostitute, sell dope, work under the table, or even a bookie. You'd see how fast our wasteful spending would get under control.

Nice try but it didn't work. You're not the first leftist to post a link with a paywall. It's been tried by so many others.

The surge didn't start until a few weeks before the election. After the election things got much worse. Trump was too busy fighting the election results, and he rightfully didn't do anything about it because he had no reason to. It never would have happened if he was reelected.

Most immigrant visas were blocked by the orders, according to immigration lawyers.

As many as 120,000 family-based preference visas were lost largely because of the pandemic-related freeze in the 2020 budget year, according to the American Immigrant Lawyers Association. Immigrants could not bring over family members unless they were U.S. citizens applying for visas for their spouses or children under the age of 21.

It also barred entry to immigrants with employment-based visas unless they were considered beneficial to the national interest such as health care professionals.

And it slammed the door on thousands of visa lottery winners who were randomly chosen from a pool of about 14 million applicants to be given green cards that would let them live permanently in the United States.

The blocked visas add to a growing backlog that has reached 437,000 for family-based visas alone, said California immigration lawyer Curtis Morrison, who represented thousands of people blocked by the freeze.

“I’m thrilled for my clients who are now in a position that they can now enter the U.S.," he said. “But that backlog will take years if the administration does not take ambitious measures."

Meanwhile, Biden has proposed legislation that would limit presidential authority to issue future bans against immigrants.

HOW HAVE FLOWS CHANGED SINCE JOE BIDEN BECAME PRESIDENT?

Border encounters — a widely-used but imperfect gauge that tells how many times U.S. authorities came across migrants — rose sharply during Donald Trump's final months as president, from an unusually low 17,106 last April to 74,108 in December. Last month, encounters topped 100,000 for the first time since a four-month streak in 2019.
That's only part of the picture, though. Who's crossing is just as important a gauge as how many are making the attempt, if not even more.

There is no nice try, just the facts and they are real. So suck it up and admit that your grifter is just that--a grifter.
