This number means little to me - same as when Obama was in office. It just shows how many people filed for UI (unemployment Insurance). But a GIGANTIC number of people fall into the 'discouraged worker' category...and they have given up looking for employment and have probably run out of UI. So they do not show up on the above stat.

Yes, it is proof of whinery about a specific something. That something is usually the cost of social services for the poor.

Capitalism has a natural rate of unemployment. You can't hire everybody who wants to work anyway, not even in Right to Work States. Who really is more fantastical in making Labor as Individuals, work harder than Firms as institutions.

Full employment of capital resources is the objective. Equal protection of the law regarding the concept of employment at the will of either party, for unemployment compensation; solves simple poverty and is more cost effective than means testing anyone who doesn't have an income nor a job.
