Cote Divoire isn't an offensive name, and since the nation's ivory exports have really declined over the years, I don't see why a new name, a little bit disassociated with their previous history, can't be adopted.

Now, nations like Guinea and Niger definitely need to change their names because of their association with slur words against racial and ethnic groups.

I would use Cote d´ Ivoire if I was Frenching ... but if I'm Englishing, then I use Ivory Coast ... and Chad, and Germany, and Switzerland ... although I do understand they get to spelt their name however they wish ... I certainly can't pronounce Glasgow the way it's supposed to ...
