It’s taken only 24 hours, but Trump’s fairytale of peace in the Middle East seems doomed

Once again, everyone is speaking in almost entirely contradictory terms about a present that doesn’t reflect reality and a magical future that, given the enormous issues that need to be (and haven’t been) addressed, seems impossible to reach.

And less than 24 hours after Donald announced this “everlasting peace”, Palestinians were still being killed in Gaza, aid trucks stopped from going into Gaza and a row broke out about the failure of Hamas to return the bodies of dead Israeli hostages.

It didn't take long for the "peace in the ME" dream to begin to unravel. Too bad it was too late for Nobel Peace Prize. trump pushed it and threatened everyone to get his peace "dream." Now the tidy red ribbon is beginning to untie. Remember the Camp David accords with Jimmy Carter. They were also hailed as peace in the ME. Sadat is assassinated and everything went up in smoke.

We learn once again that Peace at any cost is not a Peace that lasts. But the hostages are free and trump is happy....Hey!

I'll put you down as: Would rather have more death so he can bash Trump.

Perhaps you lack the cerebral processing power. You must be using Intel 486. You think Trump gives a **** what Israel will to Hamas after the hostages are released?

There's been peace between Israel and Egypt ever since Carter and the Camp David accord.

And then we have the Abraham Accords, Trump 45, that has also brought peace. Hezbollah and Hamas are the murderous holdouts, plus Iran.

Trump can’t be held responsible for Hamas lying. At least he tried to encourage peace and save lives.

It hasn’t held, Hamas is back to shooting both Israeli civilians and fellow Palestinians,

Mankind lacks the ability to bring an end to violence & bloodshed in the middle east. Just sit back & watch the show like everyone else is doing.

The important thing is there are a lot more Arabs/ muslims who want peace now and are tired of hamas, Iran and Islamic state. I guess the next step is they need to create a joint operation where every member of groups like Islamic state and hamas are sytematically killed. theres no other way if they dont accept rational negotiations.
