The In-N-Out in Oakland, California closed permanently on March 24, 2024. This was the first time in the chain's 76-year history that a location was closed. The closure was due to safety concerns related to crime.

California, it doesn't experience brain drain. It just experiences dumb old folks moving to Arizona. Or maybe Florida.
It's the rust belt where the brain drain is worst. Tech companies here in Indiana have troubles convincing anyone to move here for a job, because young people don't want to live in a 3rd-world dictatorship.
