The Cold War was a race to exploit the power vacuums created by decolonization. The Soviets were the major imperialists, not the U.S., who was far more interested in international trade unions and treaties. The FDR bashing just comes from sociopaths who hate his concessions to labor and his belief that workers and their families were human beings and not just more corporate property. Right wingers have the same view of workers as the Soviets and Maoists do, which is why their policies are just distinctions without a difference for the majority of people, and why Republicans can barely compete with deviants and nutjobs in elections.
