Yeah, all this talk about redacting just makes me angry. Now, I am not a public official, but I was in a psych ward (don't ask). So naturally I had a huge file. One day I asked to see my own file, and when I received it, it was SO heavily redacted as to be useless. And I honestly felt so powerless because I knew nothing about the law surrounding that. I remember thinking to myself, what's the point of releasing my "file" to me, if you are just gonna redact it so heavily like that?
