When Rep. Dan Goldman first ran for Congress in 2022, he was cheered on the left as the party’s top lawyer during President Donald Trump’s first impeachment.

Three years on, the Manhattan Democrat is in the fight of his political life against New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, a liberal challenger backed by prominent left-wing figures like Zohran Mamdani and Bernie Sanders. In his campaign launch earlier this month, Lander declared: “We need leaders who will fight, not fold.”

“I’m running for Congress because we’re facing a five-alarm fire for our democracy” Lander declared in his mid-December launch video.

The open socialists will have an easy victory over the closet socialists. Mamdani's pick will win any primary that he endorses a candidate for. If AOC is radical enough for his endorsement, she will win the voting part of the Democratic primary for president. No prediction yet as to who will win the far more binding DNC selection process.

The response to this crises by mainstream Democrats is of course "But Tru-ump!"

“I think we’ve got individuals who might be caught up in the moment, caught up in the internet,” said Rep. Greg Meeks, a fellow New York Democrat who has watched liberal challengers line up against many in his home state delegation. “To me, it is them missing the boat, though, because what they’re upset about and angry about is the President of the United States, and what we should be doing is uniting behind Grace [Meng] and Adriano [Espaillat] and [Ritchie] Torres.”

Well, no. They are angry that establishment Democrats are not fighting hard enough to flood the country with drugs, terrorists and human trafficking victims, and to tax waitresses' tips.

BTW, I never heard of any of those three names above. Who are they?

They need to recruit some Billionaire to be their own Donald Trump. Maybe that guy that owned the basketball team.

Me neither.

I have a bad feeling that the country is not going to be what it has always been in about twenty years from now.

I worry because I prepared my children to live in America and they are doing brilliantly at it. Now I have a grandchild on the way. I wonder how he or she will do in The People's Socialist Ameristan or whatever they call it in the future.

The Greeks engineered a sociological marvel regarding their societal/government connection/contract, but perfect in every way as it was ORIGINALLY formed, the Grecian empire went down in flames. The Romans tried to capitalize on the early Grecian successes but also went down in flames as easily as the Greeks did. Our founding fathers also followed suit but CURRENTLY we(American society) are witnessing the SAME SOCIOLOGICAL PROBLEM(S) in our America that the before mentioned two societies encountered. The problems associated with humanity both past & present isn't to be found in societal formation/contracts, for the problem obviously resides within our human condition(human nature). Some Christians refer to the problem with our human condition as the "Matrix Control System", but whatever is causing humanities divide & conquer/power & control aberrations it's been with humanity for a looong time like don't look for it to go away anytime soon.
