"It is Absolutely Patriotic to Burn a (American) Flag" CNN Democrat

Remember the good old days when we could tar and feather these scum and run them out of town.

You got half of it right. :auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:
But 50% isn't a passing grade...even with a curve.

What is funny is seeing your panties on fire over a flag being burned in protest, but vociferously defending those who fly it upside down, paint black lines across it....or hug it like it was a hooker. :laughing0301:
We have people who burn rubber with their vehicles over painted gay rainbow flags on asphalt getting charged with hate crimes. Civilizations do not last like this. They end up with draconian law and order edicts that emasculates all eventually.

By the way, it would figure that a Dimocrat views it as 'patriotic'.

The same liberal trash that say burning the American flag is patriotic will also say burning a fag flag is a hate crime. There is no reasoning with that level of stupidity.

It should be a crime to burn an American flag. It isn't patriotic and is disrespectful.
That has been considered from time to time. Smarter people realized that making it against the law would probably cause every flag in the nation to be burned in a single day.

Yes, son. We are talking flags. A simple Google search will direct you to a VFW page that explains the proper way to dispose of American flags.

Again, for the class, what is the key element in the disposal of flags? :)

Do you understand the difference between taking a flag out of serivice and burning it properly and burning it to make a statement?

It wouldn't.

It wouldn't.
They were worried about it, and they didn't pass it when it came up before. That was their reasoning, not mine. I have no idea what would happen, but burning your own flag has been deemed free speech by black robed people way above my pay grade.

In certain circumstances it certainly can be.

Protesting is an American right.
Go for it. Under what circumstance is burning the American flag patriotic?

Yes. The point of the matter is the end treatment of disposal...is still fire. :auiqs.jpg:And flag burning in protest has been practiced since before the Civil War.
You righties seem to get your panties in a bunch over non-issues.

No bunch
Just correcting you.

My flag is folded properly and in the closet as it has been for the last 20 some years. My flagpole is empty.

I never agree w/ Ds on anything.. except this. I wouldn't exactly call it patriotic but a person has a right to burn
HIS
Her

flag

You have to make that distinction bc in the news you often see people tearing down/burning other people's flags. THAT is vandalism -a crime.

It doesn't phase me one bit if someone is dumb enough to burn a flag, which sends the message that American is totally bad, even though we know it isn't. Now that I think about it, that's a terrible message and could be almost seen as a form of treason.. But burning a flag alone (w/o engaging in other treasonous acts) has to be seen as an expression of ideas, which is protected by our Constitution.
