Hello from Toledo.

Wow, I grew up in Toledo.

I remember treks to the grocery every Saturday our mother. We'd go to Meijer on Central Avenue. We we turned loose and ran around all over the store. When we got tired of that, we'd run in the parking lot.

Then it was off to Claudia's. Couldn't wait to get hemp seeds.

Phoenix was another stop. They're get a huge box of Medjool dates and we'd load up.

There was a hockey team. What was it called? They played in an old arena with red and white uniforms. Can't remember their nickname.

Another was the Toledo Mud Hens. Had the same style park as Dayton. Believe both were called 5th-3rd field.

My parents always tell me that you either wait for things to happen or you make something happen. (Yep another my parents told me story.)

The hockey team that you remember the Toledo Storm and they played at the Sports Arena. They're gone and the arena was torn down to make room for some "luxury" apartments.

Now our hockey team is the Toledo Walleye and they play at the Huntington Center.

Before the Storm we had the Toledo Goaldiggers. Mike Eruzione played for them before he went on to be the captain of the 1980 US Olympic hockey team.
