Israel Sends Experts, Aid To Fight Ebola In Africa

And more:

In response to urgent pleas from the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the US government and other countries, Israel is sending more than a million shekels’ worth of medical equipment, as well as expert personnel to fight the spread of the African Ebola epidemic that has claimed 3,400 lives since March and has infected almost 7,200 people.

Gil Haskel, deputy director general of MASHAV-Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry, tells ISRAEL21c that many international groups – including IsraAID, the Israel Forum for International Humanitarian Aid — are already working in the affected countries of West Africa to treat patients stricken by hemorrhagic fever caused by the virus.

Earlier this week, Israel’s Defense Ministry told the US and UN that it could not fulfill a request to send IDF field hospitals to Liberia and Sierra Leone, out of concern for the safety of Israeli health workers. MASHAV is answering a different but just as pressing need: prevention.

So now aid is on the way from the Gov't; they are going to focus on prevention of the spread.

any assistance is good, but it is kind of like standing next to quicksand watching someone go down and not helping except by putting a fence around the quicksand.

And this is the same Israel a lot of you do not like.

Thought I'd change it up around here, too many hater posts.

That should perhaps read "Isreal does NOT send experts to fight Ebola in Africa"

Israeli gov 8217 t rejects Ebola relief request Israeli NGO already in Sierra Leone Jewish Telegraphic Agency

"In the coming months IsraAid plans to send over 30 experts in post-traumatic stress disorder prevention and stress management to West Africa to conduct intensive training for local social workers and health workers." Is not exactly fighing Ebola. Another Hasbara FAIL.
PTSD training is just as important as the cure, Ralph.

If one is dead they do not need PTSD help. If I am sick with a virus , I hope they don't send a shrink to help me.:cuckoo:

So Zionist JSIL is finaly helping out, that's a good thing. Pity they had to be asked by several countries and the U.N. rather than volunteering from the get go and keeping quiet about it. Still, after slaughtering 1,000's of people they probably thought they needed some good publicity.

There are sizable populations of muslims in west africa. They might try to target Israeli or reject aid from Israel, as Iran. Pakistan did allow aid from Israel. It is a political tight rope that Israel must walk. Israel can't just land in their airport and unload aid or set up shelters and a mobile hospital on a moment's notice. They have to be allowed to enter countries with limit or no relations with Israel.
Blaming Israel because they were not the first to land aid in west africa is disingenuous. Israel is always generous in emergencies around the world, but some countries do not want the aid.

On the contrary, governments talk to each other daily, via numerous diplomatic and non-diplomatic channels, Zionist JSIL could have offered to help from the get go and if they were turned down, they could justifiably publicly state, "well we offered but their government turned us down". There is no evidence of this and JSIL has diplomatic relations with the 4 countries which are the main outbreak centres. They didn't have to be the first, but the fact that several countries and the U.N. had to ask them for help and then they trumpeted their "humanitarian" credentials, makes this a PR hasbara stunt in my view.

Israel has been involved but some posters did not realize it or care to find out before having a conniption fit.
We have the whole internet so why do so few actually find out the facts before posting nonsense and accusations?
If you don't have a clue, politely ask before making outlandish or hate based comments as if fact.
When you start with hostility you are more likely to have it served back to you.
