Being reminded that the entirety of Gaza is a combat-zone, with active fighting between the IDF and Hamas, the delivery of humanitarian aid is strategically complex. There are reasons why Israel "can't just give..."There is no reason Israel cannot give food to children and others...
What should have happened is for women and children and elderly non-combatants to be permitted to enter Egypt into safe humanitarian zones. Then the facilitation of humanitarian aid might have been safe, organized, and easily carried out by multiple nations.
It is a strange world we live in where the new rules of warfare include preventing non-combatants from fleeing the war zone.
