I'm down 9% this year, my worst year ever.

I hope that makes you feel better.

I'd feel better if we frog marched the lot of you guys in front of a kangaroo court with a jury of 12 guys who lost their jobs and houses.

Haters' gonna hate.

I only hate those who merit it.

But like I said, we should leave you guys alone in a room with these guys who lost their houses and jobs because of you. Give them baseball bats and a pre-emptive pardon. If you can talk your way out of there, God Bless.

Lots of good people lost their homes and savings because Bill Clinton thought it was a good idea to force lending and many greedy assholes took advantage of that. They had nothing to lose, they were welfare fucks before they got the free credit - they had no risk in the game. They were just allowed to live in the lap of luxury for a couple years... Meanwhile many of those who actually had investments in the market lost everything..

Our whole society has to suffer because progressives believed credit was a right not a privilege..

Violence is often associated with bigotry and congenital stupidity.

What do you imagine Toro had to do with the financial crises?

it's amazing how many times one person can be corrected and still think it's ok to lie.

but then again, reality is complicated and doesn't fit nicely into your rightwingnut rants.

I agree the CRA was a horrible, horrible law.

But saying, "The CRA made me act like a crook" is like saying, "Her trampy dress made me rape her."

It wasn't just that the CRA made banks loan to people who shouldn't have gotten loans, it was that the banks created products geared to those people knowing the government would cover their loses. In short, as much as Toro whines about "socialism", the fact is, government socialized the risk.

There's plenty of blame to go around. The government making bad laws and not enforcing the good ones. The Wall Street Crooks saying, "How can I make a huge profit, even if it destroys the economy in the long run?" The home builders who stopped building affordable bungalos and built "McMansions" they marketed to middle class folks who couldn't afford them, on the promise they could "flip" them at a profit in a few years.

He came on here and said he made a bunch of money betting against real estate.

JoeBigot131 hates Wall Street almost as much as he hates Mormons.

Kind of like hatred towards blacks and Jews of yore, it is born of ignorance and everyone is guilty by association.

either that or you're too stupid to follow the reality.

Unlike you I don't spend 10 minutes reading some op-ed piece then walk away believing I know the whole story...

The Community Reinvestment Act amendments under Clinton are responsible for this mess..

He came on here and said he made a bunch of money betting against real estate.

and if he had bet wrong he'd have lost a lot of money.

your point?

The point is our economy should not be a casino. Especially when those who aren't placing the bets are the ones who end up losing.

"Whooops. Lost my bet. I guess you guys are all going to lose your houses now! And Granny's Pension Fund? Fuggitaboutit! Granny better learn to love Alpo."

No, it was the CRA that gave them homes, it was the home that gave them credit, credit in which they abused..

That was/is the problem..

If banks weren't forced to buy them homes then they would have never qualified for credit and we would have never had this mess..

Right, you poor Wall Street bloodsuckers, you are so oppressed.

I mean, last year, you wanted a new Lamborghini, but you had to settle for a Porsche. Oh, the depravity of it. Sniff, sniff. And those meanies down there who are just struggling at their jobs doing REAL work every day, instead of having fun gambling with others livlihoods, man, they are soooo mean, those Teabaggers and OWS types.

The French nobility had no idea what it had done wrong when they got dragged off the guillotine...

poor deranged baby... :cuckoo:

but once again for the terminally stupid... CRA didn't require banks not to do risk assessment.

far more responsible was the deregulation of the banks.

i suspect you're just too stupid to understand what the banks did when they bundled up their bad debt with the good... so it's much easier to talk about CRA -- which you also really don't understand but it fits your delusions.

It's their money they can do whatever the fuck they want with it.. I could care less..

I find those that envy to be pathetic....

Realistically who are the greedy ones?? those who generate wealth or those who beg the government to redistribute them free money for nothing???

If you want me to clarify, I was shorting REITs, not housing.

You're an ignorant moron. Do you know why? You think that because someone who borrows and sells then buys it back caused this. That makes you a fool.

Housing prices didn't collapse because investors were shorting. Housing prices collapsed because they were in a bubble, interest rates were high and the mortgage market was rotten. This had nothing to do with people who had the foresight to see it for what it was and - God forbid - tried to better their clients and families from it.

I call you a whiny socialist because you whine that people didn't take losses like you did. Instead, you wish violence on those who had the foresight to profit from it. God forbid if anyone should make money during bad times. Instead, everyone should suffer. And you call yourself a conservative. Even the RINOs think you're a RINO.

You are grossly ignorant about how markets work. I hardly expect the average person to have as good a grasp of this as professionals, but I don't expect "conservatives" to wallow in petty resentment, envy and jealousy of the success of others either.

And for the record, most of Wall Street suffered during the Financial Crisis, but I doubt this fact will mitigate your self-pitying whine-fest.

Again with the ignorant stereotypes.

I have to work for a living. I'm not rich.

But guy, they don't "generate' wealth. Wealth is generated by those of us who go to work every day and make things and provide services.

And when they take a 700 billion dollar bailout the rest of us paid for, it isn't their money anymore, it's ours.

The CRA gave the greedy welfare class free homes, homes which qualified the same welfare fucks for credit cards.. These same fucks used the plastic until it maxed out and they went and got another one..

At the pinnacle of this plastic charge card frenzy I was a teenager jocking a cash register and I was quite disturbed by the fact 90% of sales were charges... I thought it was crazy and irresponsible...

So don't tell me people didn't abuse credit - I saw that shit first hand - it was my job to scan their cards..

I work for a living, too. But I actually produce something. I don't gamble on what other people do and "bet against" things like you bragged here you do.
