Do you trust him? Do you believe him? It seems to me that he is much more concerned about the economy and his reelection than the truth about the coronavirus. He seems to be in daily contradiction to the scientists and public health officials. What do you think?
Really, he and the CDC seemed to be in total agreement today. Perhaps you should lose the regressive glasses.
We need to dig up some old Ebola posts and see how understanding the cons were about Obama's handling of the situation. As I recall, the coronavirus 'scare' is mild in comparison.

Obama did all he could to help Ebola find a US host. He let infected people roam about the country

Nah. No reason to keep him in a Level IV hospital bed, the apartment complex is just as safe
A picture of what could be just about anything isn't a link.

.

he said there were 11 deaths when he was at the CDC yesterday, when at that time the death toll was 15. as of this morning, it had gone up to 17 with the latest being from FLA.

The Trump administration is on top of the virus. Much more so than if a Democrat was in office. It's why he declared a public health emergency back on Jan 31 and started quarantining people who flew in from certain areas. 1.1 million tests this weekend and 1 million more early next week. Private companies getting involved.

except that the only test kits available were from the CDC, that turned out to be tainted & NOW private companies got the go ahead to produce more. that fuck up allowed many weeks to go by where carriers & those that showed illness' went undetected.

Since Trump isn't a Dr or scientist or medical professional....anything he's been saying is based on the information relayed to him. So it's not a matter of whether he's lying, being truthful or not or trustworthiness...….but the amount of information available to him, that keeps changing on a daily basis.

The information overload hyped by the media since the virus hit US soil has been contradictory. Most MSM's headlines and resulting stories are written to strike fear & panic, while actual medical sources are saying to use common sense practices to avoid exposure, and risk of infection.

If you actually look at the real numbers of this supposed 'GLOBAL PANDEMIC'...….yes thousands are infected and numbers are continuing to climb......and 3,400(?) have died from it with the greatest numbers in China. In the US, our current death rate from the virus is 17 with more than half that were residents of the same nursing home. The majority of the others are also elderly with either underlying health problems and/or had travelled abroad.

Then compare that to previous flu outbreaks (swine, bird, Sars, Mers, etc) where many more had died within a larger scope of dynamics (not just elderly, but kids as well, that seem to be immune from this one)

are you saying all that based on your 'hunch'?

So you base "your" behavior by what others do? ...sad.

Which can only mean we need Mo' n Bigga Gubbamint, right?

If we can't trust Trump to be truthful on little things - how can we trust him to be truthful on big things? Trump has a major credibility problem.
Beat him at his own game. Do exactly the opposite of what he tells you to do. That will show him.

I don't recall how maobama dealt with Ebola, but he sure screwed the pooch on the Swine Flu, he waited 6 months and till 20,000 had been hospitalized and 1,000 Americans died before declaring a national emergency.

Now contrast that with Trump, declaring and emergency within 3 weeks, stopping inbound flights from effected areas and placing people in quarantine. They'll have more than 4 million test kits available within two months and private and State labs have been authorized to develop their own testing. Yet you commies are trying to bash Trumps response, hypocrites much. You might want to see how you commies responded to maobamas dithering on swine flu to get a true historical comparison.

Perhaps he hadn't been informed of the latest numbers, he was a bit busy yesterday morning if you hadn't noticed. But see post 30 to see how hypocritical you nit picking commies are being. You're fucking pathetic.

Pence gently tries to correct Trump's false coronavirus testing claims
Pence gently tries to correct Trump's false coronavirus testing claims

WASHINGTON — Friday evening found Vice President Pence in an uncommon and uncomfortable position: Having to downplay and contradict assertions made by his boss. It proved a delicate act for Pence, who has become the face of the administration’s coronavirus response, and who has sought to project an aura of steely confidence.

Trump can sometimes frustrate those efforts, as he did during visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta on Friday afternoon.

Wearing a red “Keep America Great” baseball cap, the president used the occasion to offer his freewheeling thoughts on everything ranging from Fox News ratings to the educational pedigree of his uncle John Trump, who was a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor.

But there were also blatantly incorrect claims, too, as when Trump said that “anybody that needs a test gets a test” for coronavirus. In fact, the CDC has badly lagged in preparing a nationwide testing regime, and only a minuscule percentage of Americans can currently be tested. That percentage will grow in the coming days, but not nearly as quickly as public health experts believe is necessary to contain the disease, which has infected at least 280 people and killed 15 in the U.S..

Trump also said during his CDC tour that the tests are “all perfect,” comparing it to his “perfect” phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. That phone call served as the basis for the impeachment inquiry that culminated in Trump’s acquittal last month.

In fact, an initial CDC test was flawed, which delayed its implementation by about two weeks, during a critical period in February when the virus was spreading in Washington state and elsewhere.

Inside Trump Administration, Debate Raged Over What to Tell Public
Inside Trump Administration, Debate Raged Over What to Tell Public

The president immediately got on the phone with Alex M. Azar II, his secretary of health and human services. That call scared people, he shouted, referring to Ms. Messonnier’s warnings. Are we at the point that we will have to start closing schools? the president added, alarmed, according to an official who heard about the call.

To health officials, the message needed to change with the outbreak. “The epicenter was shifting” as the number of new cases outside China surpassed those inside, said Dr. Anne Schuchat, the principal deputy director of the C.D.C. “The issue of what this might mean to us became more important.”

From the beginning, the Trump administration’s attempts to forestall an outbreak of a virus now spreading rapidly across the globe was marked by a raging internal debate about how far to go in telling Americans the truth. Even as the government’s scientists and leading health experts raised the alarm early and pushed for aggressive action, they faced resistance and doubt at the White House — especially from the president — about spooking financial markets and inciting panic.

“It’s going to all work out,” Mr. Trump said as recently as Thursday night. “Everybody has to be calm. It’s going to work out.”

Health experts say that telling people to remain calm is an effective message in an epidemic, and it is appropriate that it come from the president. Clear, honest communication is also crucial, and the United States has at times criticized China and other governments for being less than transparent.

It's strange that the left is desperate to believe every quack fake foreign scientist and school kid who promotes the "theory" of man made global warming but they don't believe the medical specialists in the Trump administration.

if you had any brains lakota you would realize that 98% of the asswipes in DC have a problem with telling the truth....

It sounds like a promotion for Trump's BS lying. So, provide proof with a link or admit you are a brainwashed Trump sucker.
His history is that he expects people who he is in charge of to produce. He sees the flak thrown at him by the propaganda shills as a deterrent
His history is he lies and misinforms to cover-up his failures and blunders. Shortly after he assured the country anyone who needed testing for Coronavirus could and would be tested, official spokesperson VP Pence announced during a press conference the test kits were not available in quantities needed but promised they would be....soon, confirming Trump was lying and misinforming.
The blob hasn’t been truthful at any point; ever
