NIGERIA now? Wow, our military had better stay ready. Here is ANOTHER threatened military action. So many threats, so little time.

Do they have someone keeping up with all these threats? I guess our Commander in Chief has really changed his mind on this stuff.

Trump threatens Nigeria with potential military action, escalates claim of Christian persecution
/-----/ We're supposed to ignore it? From your link.
It's not just Christians being slaughtered. Boko Haram extremist group, which seeks to establish its radical interpretation of Islamic law and has also targeted Muslims it deems not Muslim enough.

Wow, now Trump is saying it's "probably illegal" for Seth Myers to criticize him:

Trump labels Seth Meyers a 'deranged lunatic' and blasts his late-night rhetoric as 'illegal'

The President of the United States says that. I guess this is MAGA too, right?

It's all good with the flock.

I saw a single man downtown the other day, standing on a street corner by himself in the damp, holding a sign of a cartoon Trump being arrested. My first thought: what a pathetic waste of time. My second thought: that you, Mac?

BTW, he had that superior look on his face that all TDS victims have, like he was doing the Lord's work.

I was like go you dude, I just retired after 32 years of teaching and am on the way to a margarita. But go you with the placard. Yeah.

YOU stand up for transgendered and illegals.

HE stands up for persecuted Africans.

Gotta stand for something.
Well, not all persecuted Africans.

Attacks in Nigeria have varying motives. There are religiously motivated ones targeting both Christians and Muslims, clashes between farmers and herders over dwindling resources, communal rivalries, secessionist groups and ethnic clashes.

While Christians are among those targeted, analysts say the majority of victims of armed groups are Muslims in Nigeria’s Muslim-majority north, where most attacks occur.

Kimiebi Ebienfa, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reiterated the commitment of Nigeria to protect citizens of all religions.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria will continue to defend all citizens, irrespective of race, creed, or religion,” Ebienfa said in a statement on Saturday. “Like America, Nigeria has no option but to celebrate the diversity that is our greatest strength.”

Don's relationship with the reality on matters of persecution (including his own) is........hmmm.......let's say challenged.

AI Overview

In a recent Oval Office meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in May 2025, President Donald Trump presented unfounded claims of a "white genocide" against white farmers in South Africa.
During the contentious meeting, Trump brandished printouts and played video clips which he claimed were reports proving a genocide. He misidentified symbols of a demonstration as "burial sites" to suggest mass graves. The South African delegation and subsequent fact-checks by news organizations denied the claims, pointing out that murders of white farmers are a minuscule percentage of overall murders in the country and do not constitute a genocide.

The same fools saying “Ukraine isnt our concern” are saying “Nigeria is our concern!”. Why? Just because Donald Trump says so. MAGA are mucking forons.

Nigeria is a humanitarian disaster. The Government has no control in many parts where it is virtually lawless. The violence is not one-single conflict about religion but multiple overlapping conflicts not particularly related to religion: insurgency, banditry, communal/ethnic, separatist, land-resource disputes.

Nigeria poses no political nor security risk to the US or its allies. Any involvement would simply be humanitarian, which I don’t oppose, but any military involvement would likely be very Vietnam/Afghanistan in nature… a huge sunk cost with limited realistic goals and no long term impact.

/---/ It is a complicated situation, as you described.

You do realize the bandits end up confiscating most food and goods, right?

Am I wrong or did trump campaign on an isolationist, America First, non-intervention military policy?
