I see the upcoming midterms as a battle between the leftist machine and the opposition. I thought the leftists machine was permanently damaged after the '24 election, but it seems to still be going and getting stronger everyday. The opposition has its work cut out for them in the midterms. If the leftists can get control of the house America is fucked forever. Can't argue with this, ordinarily I would expect the minority party to do better, but the Far-Left agenda is not popular for the most part and so it could depend on how well or poorly the economy does in 2026. Am I correct in that Trump has been losing ground in the polls since January? That could hurt the GOP in the mid-terms.

The defining issue will be the economy and affordability. Two issues democrats have terrible record on. After Biden wrecked the economy, and we can see democrat states in deep debt. NY now has a Marxist mayor who will wreck NY economy.
Then we have the Trump economy. Already improving in just 11 months. The foundation of a strong economy is being created. Low cost reliable energy, tax and regulation cuts, manufacturing investment at an all time high, massive spending cuts in the government, inflation slowing, wages rising and the best wont start until Jan 1st.
All opposed by democrats who have no idea how to manage an economy. All they know is borrow and spend print money and dump it in the economy. Look at the cities democrats control. Economic basket cases. People fleeing in larger numbers.
