Did Americans just give up on the idea of eating better and exercising to lose 15 or 20 pounds? What is so hard about that? Minor modifications in what and how much you eat and some simple moderate exercise and you can easily lose 2 pounds per month. Have people really become that lazy? And do they think Ozempic is a magic bullet with no adverse side effects? Guess again, with drugs there is no magic bullet.

I've wondered about that but I have also wondered about why it it this drug seems to have gone from nothing to everybody's on it in so quick a time frame.

Very likely....And I bet there's some data in a BigPharm vault somewhere that tells us so.
Not hidden, they tell us straight out. You have to use the drug for the rest of your life. And while you are using it, you'll experience nausea, reflux, abdominal cramping, delayed gastric emptying, and constipation.

According to the Mrs., it can really screw up some people's intestinal tract but that is all she has really said about it.

If that's what they're telling us about, I don't want to know what's not disclosed.

I wouldn't be half surprised. Pharmaceutical companies aren't stupid, they probably already have new drugs in the pipeline to treat the side effects from Ozempic once they are revealed.

Making sure you have future products for the customers is a good business practice.

the drug is for diabetics....it does to a non-diabetic what it does to a diabetic.....why would a non diabetic want that?.....it can cause worse problems than being overweight...

Exactly! But that doesn't matter to the millions of people lining up to buy the stuff. Who cares what the side effects are, I'm going to lose 20 pounds! WooHoo!!!

Mark your calendar, 'cause it's a big day for you:

I agree.

I don’t care what anyone says. The best way to lose weight is diet and exercise.

Any weight loss that doesn’t involve significant lifestyle changes is unsustainable.

Surgery and/or drugs will never be sustainable paths to weight loss

Why is it so important to you to do a Debbie Downer on something that works for a lot of people, especially women?

That is very true.

Ozempic was tested as a diabetes drug, not a weight loss drug. It has posted warnings about it's side effects and no one knows what the long term side effects will be. I will always be a "Debbie Downer" when it comes to reaching for a pill when there are safe, simple alternatives.
