When I was a boy Aunt Jemima’s pancake mix was a standard in anyone’s kitchen. I felt no negative connotations and I never developed any racist feelings. I don’t know, maybe the adults did but no such thoughts developed in my head. Much later the brand Aunt Jemima was considered racist. But isn’t racism something that is fostered inside your own personal thoughts? The same with the words “Negro” and “black”. I know what the words mean. The countries of Nigeria and Niger are no slander and the Rio Negro tributary to the Amazon River isn’t an insult to black people. So why should the product Aunt Jemima be any different?

I wonder what the thought police would say if someone were to introduce a new product called “Sister Shaniqua’s Black Eyed Peas"? Would it be banned? Would there rioting in the streets of major cities?

From what I have seen of your postings, it looks that you save all of your racism for Jews.

Those who see racism are most likely to be racists themselves. Why would referring to a black person as being black considered a racist expression unless you think along those lines yourself? Why do Americans avoid calling someone a “Jew” (preferring the term “Jewish”) for fear of being considered an anti-Semite? Why do some cities in the US refrain from calling someone from Poland a “Polack” when the term Polack is the correct Polish word for someone from Poland?

Aunt Jemima to change branding based on 'racial stereotype'

As far as changing a brand name (see link) why doesn’t Ford and Coca Cola change their brand names considering that both companies supported Hitler during WW II? Double standard much?

I never understood why the name of that product was changed. That also goes for certain band names. Lady Antebellum and the Dixie Chicks went by those two names for years. I get why their names were changed, but to me, all that they did was leave the words "antebellum" and "dixie" with the one meaning that they thought were negative meanings. If anything, their using those words for their names only added another meaning to the word so that it didn't have just a bad meaning.

God bless you and both musical acts always!!!
