Dog whistles can be hard to determine.
"Ersatz Israel" is one of those sneaky phrases designed to undermine Israel’s legitimacy by implying it’s a fake or substitute state. The word
ersatz means "replacement" or "imitation," so the connotation is that Israel is not real or valid - which echoes classic anti-Semitic tropes about Jews being outsiders or impostors.
It’s that same old strategy: dress up the hatred in coded language so it flies under the radar,
but everyone who’s tuned in can hear the whistle which is the reason for the faux 'discussion'.
You’ve probably seen plenty of other examples - like when people say “Zionists” but clearly mean “Jews.”
Doubly so when they admit it by using reverse psychology and saying they have no problem with Jews, just Zionists.
Those ones are idiots who let the cat out of the bag for those of higher thought processing.
