It's the difference between thoroughly dissecting where a murder suspect was and what he/she did at the time of the murder and laying bare Mrs. McGillicuddy's past on the off chance that she might one day swat a stray dog with a broom.

Yet another attempt to divert, and here's why. Whitewater was an investigation into whether or not the Clinton's committed crimes in their financial dealings, including an allegation that Bubba pressured David Hale into providing an illegal loan. Based on that level of credibility, the investigation into the TRUMP! organization's taxes is a witch hunt. The difference is, on the one hand you have an incident or incidents that look like someone might have committed a crime, while OTOH you have people digging into someone's past hoping to find something, anything, criminal or not. The DNC does not care if one of these potential threats committed crimes or not, they're just hoping to find that one of them broke a neighbor's window while playing baseball in an empty lot.

Which is the point, in both Whitewater and TRUMP!'s case, there was the witch hunt mentality combined with at least an appearance of impropriety that triggered the investigation. Both TRUMP! and the Clinton's were in office or very close to being in office so became targets. That's expected in high level politics (remember the pee pee dossier?).

In what the DNC is doing, there is NO appearance of impropriety, they're just looking for dirt on anyone that MIGHT be a threat. Big difference.

Corruption in the Democrat party is everywhere.
Democrats cannot be allowed to harass their political opponents like this.
They are attempting to eliminate every Republican they might face by using the courts to harass and intimidate them.
