Unfortunately Xenforo released a new software update that not only added new functionality but also fixed some security holes. The old version is not receiving security updates.

So, you can either stay with the old version and put a pretty big sign out that says HACK ME... which obviously we don't want to do. Or we can upgrade.

The upgrades sometimes break things. A lot of the functionality we get on the forum software comes from modifications. Modifications are written by Authors. Authors sometimes update their modifications to work with the new software... sometimes they don't. When they do, we usually add them back and keep the functionality.

Either way, this is a long way of saying that sometimes change is necessary. If we never changed things, we'd still be on vBulletin 3 and the site would have crashed and been hacked and gone down long ago.

So when people say if it aint broke don't fix it, that's just absolute rubbish. If you wait until things break in a business or community you are stupid. Preventative maintenance is a good thing.

I think it's just the shock. You look at the same format for a decade and suddenly it's gone.

I looked back at a screenshot of V2, and it honestly isn't that much different.

This is what it looks like now...

The only slight issue, for me at least, on Mobile...is it is now a sea of white.

In V2, these two areas were slightly greyed... which reduced the overall brightness of the page and broke up the posts a little.

Don't know if that's something that can be tweaked or if you want to tweak it, but IMHO it helped.

On a positive note... That pop up menu at the bottom is gone that had "new posts" and some other crap that I never used but hit one out of three times I was trying to write a post. (You can see it at the bottom of the screenshot from V2). That's a big improvement.

Which skin were you using before?

Dark skin was great. Your recent changes have ruined the contrast, making it hard to read. Also, the avatars are round again, which crops them, including yours, which has text at the bottom. If people want a round avatar, they can upload one.

Great post. I think your complaint is that the quoteed text background is not a darker gray, and doesn't stand out from the regular background as much. I can fix that... great screenshot and illustration.

It's hard to understand when someone just says "it's hosed" or "you broke it" -- so props to you for an informative critique. Working on that now.

Avatars have been fixed.

Just saying that I ruined the contrast explains nothing. I look at the skin and I see a TON of contrast... so please provide screenshots.

I want the old format/skin whatever the hell it was/is, I want it back.

Grandma used to tell me: Wish in one hand and sh^t in the other, see which one fills up faster. It's not coming back.
