If you file your taxes and request a paper check which you can't do next year
they have been cracking down on fraud
My brother received a letter they want a form of ID to protect him
in case it gets stolen, this is a first

anybody here if you filed your taxes and asked for paper get randomly flagged?

he's freaking out like he did something wrong

Always pays his taxes, simple W-2 like most and that's it

per co-pilot it's just random

If you have not done your taxes yet do not choose paper if you did in the past
it will likely trigger this

I doubt it but with direct deposit the only typo would be a wrong
account that does not match what is on file

this could trigger an IRS form to identify yourself or they will freeze it

this is part of DOGE and fraud, refund checks are the #1 form of fraud

mailman steals it and tries to forge it

this can't happen with DD

paper checks cost a fortune to print and send that is why
next year whatever tax prep you use will not offer a paper refund

this is the last year
