I was there on Thursday. Very nice place. A little windy that day, but I had fun!

Best thing I ever figured out about Cozumel is that there is a public beach hardly anyone (tourists anyway) knows about with pretty decent accommodations and services, a good way outside of the main strip, complete with wildlife and peacocks wandering around. You can work a deal with a taxi driver for a reasonable price and where they will stay with you all day, shuttling you to awesome spots for lunch and sightseeing as well as take you all over the island to places you wouldn't normally go.

I have had so much fun on days in Cozumel just riding around and learning everything about the place, and although I might have a few more than I should have on occasions, I have never even crossed the threshold at Carlos and Charlie's or Senior Frogs there.

Glad you had fun, and on windy days when the surf is really choppy, there's a spot out by Freedom Point where it is awesome watching it crash and "blow up" when it comes ashore.
