IRAN HAS LAUNCHED launched drones at Israel directly from its territory, the Israeli army has said, marking a major escalation of the long-running covert war between the regional foes.

“Iran launched UAVs from its territory towards the territory of the state of Israel,” IDF military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a televised statement.

Hagari said it would take several hours for the aircraft to arrive.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier today that Israel was prepared for a “direct attack from Iran” following its threats of retaliation for a deadly air strike on its Damascus consulate.

This probably came with some input/blessing from allies Russia and China. There is a bigger objective for them here.

The day we must be worried is the day China sends one of their aircraft carriers to the M.E. That day will one day come thanks to the greed of some corporations and the naive belief some have had, even within our intelligence services but especially in our political class who answer to their corporate donors only.

Iranian leadership couldn't afford to lose face yet again. Their military ranks would be most enraged and unwilling to fight and it would be an invitation for Israel to continue these assassinations unabated as they have for months. The latest killing of one of their top generals is just one of many over the last year or so.

Where this leads is anyones guess but the U.S will have to pull rank if Bibis eyes get too big and those in the further right in his coalition become John Boltons.

Iran won't launch an all out war, they aren't suicidal.

Best wishes to the Israeli people.

CNN reports the drones will arrive in a few hours.

President Biden has just arrived back at the White House.

Hopefully, Israel will react in a thoughtful manner. It will be dealing this time with Iran, not Gaza.

I support Israel but even not the strongest militaries such as the U.S would actively welcome a multi-front war. It isn't Bibi who has to fight, not that he hasn't, and he did lose his brother in the famed hostage rescue in Africa. However, soldiers of ANY military, be they the IDF or otherwise, rely on strong leadership and expect to only be called on to risk their life if absolutely necessary.

Iran also has some of the most sophisticated military drones on earth.

Let's pray this doesn't get out of hand.

Iran launched drones from its own territory toward Israel late Saturday, days after its Supreme Leader warned it would hit back in response to an airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Syria that left several generals dead.

Earlier Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had for weeks "been preparing for the possibility of a direct attack from Iran."

The Prime Minister said Israel's "air defenses are deployed, we are ready for any scenario, both in attack and in defense."

"I established a clear principle -- whoever hurts us, we hurt him. We will protect ourselves from any threat and we will do so with coolness and determination," he said.

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus.

Saturday night's attack came just hours after President Biden cut short a weekend trip to his Delaware beach house and returned to the White House to monitor the unfolding crisis.

Hopefully the iron dome doesn’t get overwhelmed again

Aircraft carriers aren't an effective means of waging war. They're thinskinned and even more vulnerable to enemy attack than were the battleships.

Iran is only interested in making a statement that they will no longer tolerate attacks by the Zionist regime.

America's statement must of necessity be moderate and not inciteful of a wider war that could include the superpowers!

The day they COULD without it sinking long before it gets there, we can talk.
Their new generation of carrier is far superior to that of the past, don't kid yourself. They don't have the expertise and experience, but I'd be happy if it stays this way.

According to CNN, Iran is also sending cruise missiles toward Israel.

One CNN "expert" claims the United States may shoot down some of these weapons before they reach Israel.

I call B.S. Do you have a link?

China and Russia will get a free glimpse of the response from the U.S to such mass drone attacks. These are attacks China in particular may have planned for Taiwan some day.
