Ran across this question online and thought it was pretty interesting...............

Who do you think is the last generation to grow up without social media?

Boomers, Gen X, or Millennials?

GenX 100%

Depends on what is considered Social Media. As a boomer born in 1958, the telephone was social media with teens filling the phone lines 24/7 from just chatting and gossip to calling in to Live TV shows and radio programs to win prizes.

Early millennials. My daughter was born in 1990, my son in 1994.
I did not allow them to have a cell phone till they were 16.
The iPhone did not come out till 2007, they were 17 and 13 then. So social media was not a real thing then yet. Of course they texted friends, but it was more informational - as in "on way" etc. Neither were big texters.

I second this. When was the internet first created? I started going online more consistently in 2003 when I was finally able to get myself a computer.

God bless you always!!!

I suspect the Silent Generation (1928-1945).

If you use 18 as a baseline (grew-up) they would have come of age before real social media but used it toward the end of their lives.

My mom and dad were born in 1933 and used it before they passed.

I began posting on the old BBS boards in the late 90s. (Bulletin Board System)
This was the precursor to online forums of today.
Also AOL and Yahoo forums... that was probably just around 2000-02

^^^ I remember the internet being mentioned in a film that got released in late summer 1996, First Kid that is. The kid character says at one point, "I picked it up off the kid internet."

God bless you and the actor always!!!

Holly
