Being a founding member of BRICS... I'd say that India made its choice quite some time ago...

India is close to being considered as False Friend... only cozying-up to the West when China or Pakistan pose a threat.

India oscillates between Neutrality and Soviet-Russian Thralldom and is an unreliable and pretended Neutral Power.

With the advent of BRICS India has openly set itself in opposition to the US... even if that opposition is not (yet?) military.

Looks like OPEC has made its choice—they’ve sided with the strongest player. How does the Moscow Empire feel about it? Like 1991 all over again?

I was trying to tell him that but he lives in his own world. Also it's ludicrous to think that India will stop buying oil from Russia especially at the bargain price they are getting. You may see a Russian oil tanker sitting offshore being unloaded but you don't see the 5000 rail cars coming in overland filled with Russian oil. They are in fact already using the brics trading system to compensate for the purchase so it's invisible to the dollar system.

India’s neighbors—Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka—lack the infrastructure and political will to join sanction-dodging schemes. They either lack refining capacity, storage, or won’t risk diplomatic fallout with the US and EU. Without regional backing, India can’t build a rival oil supply chain.

India’s ambitions face logistical bottlenecks, limited storage, and geopolitical isolation. Like the horde, it cannot stand against the Free World.

P.S. The EU and UK will follow the US, bringing the total to nearly 30%. The US alone buys 17.7% of Indian exports, while competitors Pakistan and Bangladesh already benefit from lower tariffs

The latest EIA STEO forecast predicts a Brent Q4 price of $58 which will drop to 50 in Q1 2026.

Not sure what the Urals discount is but if we assume $5 that, together with the 12, means Moscow (stolen Siberian ) will get 41 and 33. Finally, real pressure! Less Moscow oil means fewer bombs on Ukraine. Keep squeezing! Without oil revenues, Putin can’t fund his imperialist ambitions. trump´s tariffs will collapse tsar´s war economy—just like in 1917 and 1991. The USSR empire fell when oil dropped to $15–23/barrel. Today, the Moscow empire needs $42.4+ to balance its budget. This is part of Trump’s peace plan —though many still don’t grasp the Trump–Reagan strategy against the empire. Michael Reagan said it best: “Reagan defeated the Bolshevik empire without firing a shot—his super weapon was oil.”

Without Moscow, Iran is neutered—weakening Hezbollah, Houthis, and Hamas. So All roads lead to decolonization.

I'm not rooting for Russia ..... However people who see Russian oil tankers sitting unloaded in a bay near India are not looking too closely.
The best way to convince the United States that they are cooperating is to give them something to look at. Behind the scenes the Indian government is basically laughing at the United States for demanding that they do something against their own interests. Russia has the most extensive rail service on the planet.

India will take its oil overland in ways that cannot be detected. How do you think Russia has skirted the sanctions? They take regular rail shipments of goods overland from China.
