Zone1 in your religion, do you do handraising?

Some do it in my church (10%-ish) usually while singing . Usually 8% hands out in front palms up and maybe 2% reaching up. Mostly women.

We had this one irritating dude doing it for a few short weeks a few years ago. Dude was like 6'5" and long arms and sat up front. Maybe he was sent to test our tolerance. lol.

I am not a fan of showboaty worshipping but I get some people are more emotional than I am and definitely more demonstrative.

Ultimately do what you want just dont bother those around you is my thoughts. I could be wrong.

once i have been to a church that does it

but it was no catholic church
In the LDS Church, we only raise our hand when a member is being called to a new position as a vote of sustaining the person. It's more than a vote. It's sustaining that person and we are saying we will support the person in their position. When a person is released from a calling, we will raise our hand showing a vote of thanks for their work. But, that's it. When we sing, we don't raise our hands. We raise our voices.

.

There are still Catholics who do it, but I don't, and the Catholic podcasters I appreciate do not do it.

I don't.

I also do not accept the Blessed Sacrament on the tongue because I took a medication long ago that left me with that side effect of my tongue moving involuntarily. My priest does not like to risk touching my tongue, which would necessitate father having to wash his hands before serving anyone else, so I accept in the hand.

How come Catholics aren't allowed to drink the wine sacrament?

I've gone to a Catholic Church that gave the wafer and the wine. That was pre-Covid. All they did was wipe the edge of the cup with a hanky between congregants. Was not sanitary.
I attended several masses for 16 years when I was teaching at a private Catholic High School from 1983 to 1998. Not once did anyone get to drink the more important part of the Sacrament except the Father who was presiding the mass. I've been to others for funerals and weddings and no one got to drink the blood of Christ.

I can assure you this was a Catholic Church..... St Maurice in Dania Beach, Florida.
