Several years ago on a visit to the Netherlands i was in mixed company of Dutch and German people, one Man was speaking German which i do have a little knowledge of, i couldn't understand a damn word the Man said, he was from Alsace :abgg2q.jpg:

Alsace is just a few miles from me here, just across the Rhine.
And it is much like my own Alemannic dialect. 😊
