Well ain't this the height of denial? Even after shutting down the government and refusing to accept responsibility, the Senate Democrats are calling for an investigation of why they were blamed for it.

Democrats seek investigation into agency messages blaming Democrats for the shutdown

Several federal departments and agencies posted partisan messages on their websites and in out-of-office emails during the shutdown. Democrats believe the posts violate federal law.

A group of Senate Democrats is pushing for an investigation into the Trump administration’s use of federal agency websites and emails to post partisan messages blaming Democrats for the government shutdown.

In a letter obtained by NBC News, Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and other Democrats ask the Government Accountability Office to open a probe into whether the political messages violated federal appropriations laws."

A lie?

What part of the vile dems not voting to pass a clean CR for 40 days was a lie?
The not clean CR included a pay raise for congressional members, reduced funding for allies like Ukraine, Healthcare funding reduction for immigrants and specific spending cuts to programs like the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Program.

They can "call for" all they want, they don't have the power as the minority party.
Democrats have a bad habit of underestimating the intelligence of the American people and overestimating the power of the biased media that they control.

Misleading headline. Trump violated Hatch Act. Republicans were blamed for the shutdown so they used public offices to message a political lie.
The president and vp are exempt from the hatch act

Once again you deflect from reality and highlight you are out of your league

Those are public websites not President or VP speeches. The only thing out of my league is how wrong you are all the time. I can barely keep up.

Hatch Act Violation: The Hatch Act restricts executive branch employees from engaging in partisan political activity while on duty, in a federal facility, or using federal property. Official government websites and email systems are considered federal property and resources, which should not be used to promote a partisan agenda or attack a political party.

Misuse of Government Resources: Using taxpayer-funded websites and communication channels for political messaging is widely considered an illegal use of government resources.

First Amendment Concerns: In one instance, a federal judge ruled that forcing federal employees to use their official out-of-office email messages to push partisan blame violated their First Amendment rights.

Anti-Lobbying Laws: Some argue that such messages may also violate Section 715 of a relevant public law (P.L. 118-47 in the 2025 context), which prohibits the use of federal funds by an agency to publicly support or oppose legislation pending before Congress (anti-lobbying statute).

Yeah, go with that if it helps you sleep better at night. :auiqs.jpg:

"AI Overview

Yes, the U.S. President is exempt from the Hatch Act. The law explicitly states that it covers all federal civilian executive branch employees except for the President and Vice President.

The rationale for this exemption is that the President and Vice President hold dual roles as the heads of both the executive branch and their political party, making it impossible to separate their official duties from political activity in the same way as other federal employees.

While the President and Vice President are exempt, all other federal employees, including senior White House staff and high-level political appointees, are covered by the Hatch Act and subject to its restrictions to some extent. These restrictions are designed to ensure that the federal government remains nonpartisan and that public resources are not used for campaign purposes."
