I'm new so I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but I have noticed lately much talk of rigged elections. At first it seems a bit crazy, but a friend turned me on to some videos that show how easily voting machines can be rigged to give votes to whoever one wants and not leave a paper trail. Is this a legitimate concern? Is it a hoax? I'd love to know what the heck is going on here.
With Donald Trump running around saying the election is rigged--is why you're thinking that.
1. They check electronic voting machines often to make certain they're reading right, and that no one has changed data within them to read a different way.
In fact this is a requirement.
2. There has never been an instance where someone was caught or charged with rigging an electronic voting machine, yes slot machines at a casino, people have been caught and prosecuted but not elections.
To instill some more confidence volunteer to work at your polling precinct. If 700 people come into vote, there will be one democrat to one republican (required)
you won't know who they are who will be standing over your shoulder and watching everything you do. At the end of the day there had better be 700 ballots, if one is missing they will spend all night to find it. The ballot box is either counted at the location, or is locked (you don't have the key) but you will be accompanied by others to deliver it to a central counting location, and again one democrat to one republican with several others watching those ballots being counted. At the end the Secretary of each State will "certify" the vote insuring it is accurate.
Our system of free and fair elections is the most admired in the world. On average you will find 34 fraudulent votes to every
BILLION votes cast. It happens, but it is extremely rare, and only very STUPID people will try it because the penalties are so severe. It's considered a FELONY. That extra vote is not going to change the outcome of an election, but it will change your life forever. Here is a woman they caught trying to vote twice.

1. You lose your right to vote FOREVER.
2. You are arrested and prosecuted.
3. You pay a hefty fine, & or are thrown in jail.

And let's be honest. If elections could be rigged as easily as Donald Trump claims, he certainly wouldn't be the nominee of the Republican party today, would he?
