This couple went to Las vegas for a vacation and had their things STOLEN out of their room? I thought that was unheard of and you were safe especially in a luxury hotel. I have stayed in 4 hotels so far and had no issues but this story about w hat happened in Vegas has me a little concerned now about my vacation in June. My last hotel stay I had my laptop with me while I was downstairs at the restaurant and of course I felt I didnt have to worry about something being stolen. Completely in shock

Vegas is a hell hole stay away from that place....
I have had somebody try to come in my room, with me in the room, at a hotel in Orlando while traveling on business. Orlando is not what I consider a dangerous town. It can happen anywhere.

What's this about a safe inside the hotel room
Had a couple that had them, but never used one.
I been to 4 hotels and never seen the shit

Vegas is a hot spot of thieves and charlatans.

A few tips for hotel stay----

*Stay above the 3rd floor. Thieves usually don't go above the third floor, as it consumes too much of their time trying to get up there.

*Make sure you use heavy duty luggage that can be locked.

*Don't leave anything in full view when you leave your room. Things like laptops can be hidden behind chests, bookshelves, or even locked inside your luggage.

*Make your bed and put your luggage in the closet. If your room looks like it's not occupied, more than likely the crook will continue to the next room.

I have left my room with the laptop on the table and went downstairs to the restaurant not even thinking about something being stolen

It's usually a drunk trying to get in the wrong room.
Yes, have had that also. Not what this was. Wasn't even trying to use a key, preferring a crowbar on the second floor of a Ramada Inn (not all Ramada's are equal) of all places. I figured crack heads that saw me check in after 10:00 at night after driving all day.

Probably won't ever see it if careful about where you stay, and when you check in. Stayed at hotels and motels around this country as well as overseas, but that was the only problem of that type I ever had. On personal travel have booked advance into hotels, that were mid priced, known name and supposedly normal, but took one look at the room, said no fking way and went straight back to desk, cancelled and left, but that is rare also.

The hotel should provide security footage of the hall and or elevator.

Not all hotels do. They may have cameras, but they could be there just for show. And from what I hear, the higher end hotels only have cameras in the lobby and on floors above the third floor, because the people who have the most to lose will usually stay above the third floor.

Don't take a hooker to your room and fall asleep--I have known people that were relieved of more than the fee after doing that. Most casino hotels have security screening who goes to the lodging floors though.

Smelled bad, carpet dirty, sink and bathroom mirror dirty and I didn't think it was fresh linen on the bed. I'm not that choosy, having literally slept in swamp for weeks, but if I am paying, cleanliness is the minimum standard.

The entire city is 3/4 of folks who are : mentally ill , criminals , pathological liars , sleeze balls , drug addicts, thugs and just losers

Most Vegas hotels don't have that in the hallways.....on purpose.
