Tyson spoke to LBC's Beverly Turner while he was travelling to Belfast for a ceremony for sports personality of the year.
A petition for him to be removed from the contest has nearly 14,000 signatories from people who find his views on homosexuality, women and abortion offensive.
Fury was unrepentant about his comments and said he does not care if he wins or not.
