I read in census reports that California grew to 55 electoral votes due to 8,000,000 illegal immigrants.
The state among residents loses more legal residents each year, more than any other state.
So if they are here illegally and cant vote legally, why is the electoral college adding more votes for illegals... the number shouldnt be 55 it should be more like 40....
Legal action should be taken to change this fraudulant activity, its not fair for us legal citizens.
Kerry wouldnt have a shot legally to win and this proves it.....

I was under the impression electoral votes were based on 'population' not 'registered voters' or 'population of voting age'.

Yes, but it was created at a time when there was no such thing as illegal immigration, this is a relatively new thing that has not yet been sorted out.

Illegal immigrants cant legally be counted as populous of a state... but rather a visitor status is given....
An easy win in the courts if they would just fight it......

Not true, they are counted in the Census as well. Often they are difficult to get to return their forms and they send out people to count them by knocking on the doors and counting what they see. It is the number of people that create the Electoral votes for the state and therefore if you have more illegals you get more Electoral votes.

Such as it is, the press has become the greatest power within the Western World, more powerful than the legislature, the executive and judiciary. One would like to ask; by whom has it been elected and to whom is it responsible?Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

they esentialy won the war for the VC, are doing a "job" on W and will eventually win the war on terror for the terrorists ... i wonder what it will take for them to return to reporting events rather than being the event

According to the Census of California over 8 million forgot to hide....

Haven't you answered your own question here?-- illegal population cant add to the electoral vote.

The point im making is the 8 million immigrants are being counted as the total population as it applies to the electoral college voting system.... and without the right to vote, should not be included, but are.....

Should children not be counted either? They cannot vote.

But they can, the Constitution didn't have any difference between legal/illegal immigrants and therefore the Electoral College is based off of the amount of people that live there regardless of legal/illegal status. This would take an Amendment to change as it is written into the Constitution.

All it takes is simple numbers not legal status.

Often the illegals are not counted in whole but estimated into the count as well. There were court battles fought over this very issue (estimating numbers of illegals) and they are still allowed to do that.

If the children are legal citizens then of course....
The electoral college is based on total population.... How can you count a citizen of Mexico as a part of that population?

If they are resident they are counted as part of the population regardless of legal status. BTW children born to illegals are no longer citizens of this country, they inherit the legal status of their parents.
